'Avoid' - Nottingham Forest fans on the moment that still haunts them

Every football fan remembers the highs of standing on the terraces, feeling that buzz of adrenaline throughout 90 minutes of action.

Nottingham Forest fans remember the glory days of watching John Robertson and Garry Birtles hit goals galore in the 1970s and 80s.

Good moments and special goals are always easy to remember – but equal to that are those moments that leave your jaw dropped and asking the question ‘How?’.

Forest supporters will be no stranger to that.

From Marlon King to Steve Stone, Reds fans were debating the worst miss they have seen while following the club.

Here’s what they said over on our Facebook page.

Nick Fletcher: Marlon King v Sheffield United in the FA Cup. He had a free header in the 6 yard box right in front of the Trent End. He seemed to duck to avoid making contact with the ball.

Brent Taylor: I was at Blackpool away in the 70s and I think it was Viv Anderson stood on the Blackpool goal line the ball came to him and he headed over, game ended 0-0. Anyone else remember this game and I only think it was Viv Anderson

Bradley White: David Johnson (sorry DJ) rounded the keeper against Cardiff in front of the Trent end and conceived to put the ball over the bar.

Danny Hill: I’m sure Marlon missed an open goal, possibly on his debut or a very early game. Could have been against Ipswich.

Malcolm Owen: Steve Stone away at Elm Park, Reading

Neil King: Definitely Stone away at Reading...

Steve Kirk: Bob Rosario headed the post instead of the ball from 1 yard out!

Alan Sweeney: Stevie Stone at Reading in a 3-3 draw.

Kev Ward: Stevie Stone Reading away.
