Avocado is a no-no as Brit holidaymakers blast breakfasts made trendy by millennials

It's bright green, trendy – and the mere sight of it can make staycationers choke on their traditional English breakfast.

Avocado? I’m not ’avin’ that, was the surprise response researchers got when asking holidaymakers about what they liked on their toast for breakfast.

Only 180 of 2,000 people who took part in the survey reckoned the super-healthy Mexican tree fruit ‘smashed’ on toast was a good way to start the day.

Two fifths said simply seeing it on the menu next to a full English annoyed them – and nearly three-quarters of those blamed millennials for making avocados trendy.

B&Bs and hotel booking specialist Eviivo found nearly two thirds thought breakfast menus were now “too fancy”.

Just under half of those questioned went for a full English or eggs on toast – poached, scrambled or fried.

Roughly the same amount would plump for jam or just butter on toast with tea.

Eviivo’s Paul Saxby said: “A good British breakfast is a big part of an enjoyable holiday. Eggs, marmalade and jam on toast are clear favourites but we were surprised at just how many people objected to avocado.”

Avocados are a popular choice for celebrities including Victoria Beckham, Stacey Solomon, James Bond star Daniel Craig and Australian actress Rebel Wilson due to their healthy nutritional value.

Craig’s personal trainer on all his James Bond films has written a fitness manual revealing how you too can get Golden Guns like 007.

The actor has written a forward to a new book by Simon Waterson, described as “the film industry’s most in-demand personal trainer”

Craig said: “Without Simon’s help and guidance, I wouldn’t have made it through 15 years of playing James Bond.”

An elite nutritional plan for Craig’s breakfast consisted of of eggs, rye bread, avocado, kimchi, turmeric shots, and black coffee.
