Avo Avo in Finnieston set to close this month after failing to get alcohol license

Glasgow's avocado extraordinaires have called time on their venue in the city's hippest location.

Owner Nav and the team at Avo Avo announced last night they're closing their Finnieston restaurant this month due to "many reasons".

They say that the tipping point for the business - which was the first of its kind in Scotland and launched in November 2017 - has been a failure to get an alcohol license which they needed to "complete the project".

But, they've served up a wee it of hopeful news too, promising to relocate to a new home in the next three months .

A statement on their Facebook page reads: "Guys we are sad to say that our time as Avo Avo at 946 Argyle Street is soon to come to an end for many reasons, the main one being we aren’t able to get an alcohol license which we need to complete the project.

"It’s not all bad news we will be relocating to somewhere new within a 3 months window so keep your eye peeled on our social media platforms for updates.

"Thanks for your custom and hope to see you all over the next two weeks till we close."

The final day of Avo Avo will be July 16.
