Aviation geeks stunned as Dublin Airport welcomes very important plane

Aircraft spotting and professional wrestling are two worlds that one wouldn't think would collide very often.

Whether or not you're of either of those things the odds are you have heard of the WWE, the media company that has put wrestling on the global stage.

And the WWE is known for its glamour and bravado in basically everything the company does. Even their modes of transport cannot escape the over the top nature of the WWE.

Aviation enthusiasts across the country are always on the lookout to see if any significant and or interesting aircraft ever enter Irish airspace or even touch down on the tarmac here.

But this latest find by eager spotters has to take the cake, after the official WWE plane was spotted making a quick stop in Dublin this week.

Photos emerged on social media of the plane soaring across Irish skies as wrestling fans and plane spotters attempted to validate the sightings.

And it appears the reports are in fact accurate.

According to data.freshaviation.co.uk, the WWE aircraft touched down in Dublin Airport briefly after arriving from New York at 10.55 am on Sunday morning.

It then quickly departed 11:47 to a currently unknown location. Given the quick nature of the stop fans are speculating that it was likely a refuelling stop before the plane jets off to another location.

Some fans speculated it may have been making the journey to the Middle East, given that the WWE has hosted a number of events in the region in places like Saudi Arabia.

It is unclear who may have been on the plane but the Bombardier Global 5000 jet often is the main mode of transport for some of the biggest stars whenever they travel across the states or abroad.

The WWE private plane is WWE boss Vince McMahon’s pride and joy, as well as the company's most helpful asset, seeing as travelling is the biggest part of a wrestler’s job.

Quite a sight to see on a Sunday afternoon!
