Hundreds of partners at accountancy firm PwC are in line for a bumper pay day despite widespread criticism of the UK’s biggest accounting firms and their audit work.
The average pay for the 913 equity partners at the firm this year was £765,000, up 7.4% on last year.
The payouts come as the accounting giant reported revenue up 12% to £4.23 billion and profit up 8.7% to £1.02 billion.
The UK’s biggest accountancy firms have been in the spotlight this year, criticised by politicians over lax auditing practices after a string of corporate collapses including Carillion and BHS.
