Avengers: Endgame: Robert Downey Jr responds to NASA's offer to rescue Iron Man

After the Avengers: Endgame trailer was released online, Marvel fans were left worried about the fate of Robert Downey Jr's Tony Stark.

The superhero was shown drifting through space, alone, sending one final message to Pepper Potts as all hope looks lost.

In an attempt to save the belolved character, some fans began pressing NASA to send help, with the agency replying soon after.

"Hey Marvel, we heard about Tony Stark," they wrote on Twitter. "As we know, the first thing you should do is listen in mission control for 'Avengers, we have a problem.' But if he can’t communicate, then we recommend ground teams use all resources to scan the skies for your missing man."

Now, playing along with the joke, Downey posted on Twitter in response: "Always good to know NASA has your back."

Avengers: Endgame has set the record for most-watched trailer within 24 hours, beating the record set by Avengers: Infinity War and picking up a staggering 289m views.

The film features an incredible cast of Marvel’s most beloved superheroes including Iron Man, Chris Evans’s Captain America and Paul Rudd’s Ant-Man.
