Avengers directors BEG fans not to share spoilers after Endgame footage 'leaks online'

Avengers: Endgame directors Anthony and Joe Russo have urged fans not to reveal the film’s plot after footage was reportedly leaked online.

The filmmaking duo shared an open letter on Twitter last night in which they asked “the greatest fans in the world” not to “spoil [the film for others],” using the hashtag #DontSpoilTheEndgame.

Their plea comes after scenes from the upcoming film, which marks the conclusion of Marvel’s Avengers saga, were reportedly shared on social media earlier this week.

The leaked clips have since been removed.

“This is it,” they wrote. “This is the end. The end of an unprecedented narrative mosaic spanning eleven years and eleven franchises.

“For all of you who have been on this journey with us since the very beginning, sharing every high and low with your family, your friends, your classmates, your co-workers.

“Investing so deeply so deeply in every character and storyline. Laughing. Cheering. Shedding tears. Giving so freely of your thoughts and emotions in spirited dialogue, theories, fan art and fan fiction.”

The brothers said they had “worked tirelessly” for three years to deliver “a surprising and emotionally powerful conclusion to the Infinity Saga,” and asked fans for their “help” in protecting the film’s secrets.

“Because so many of you have invested your time, your hearts, and your souls into these stories, we’re once again asking for your help,” they continued.

“When you see Endgame in the coming weeks, please don’t spoil it for others, the same way you wouldn’t want it spoiled for you.”

They concluded the letter with a reference to the film’s villain, Thanos, writing: “Remember, Thanos still demands your silence.”

The Russos issued a similar letter ahead of the release of Avengers: Infinity War last year.

Avengers: Endgame arrives in UK cinemas on April 25.
