Avant Homes starts £43m Notts housing scheme

A housebuilding firm has bought 15 acres of land to build 187 homes with a value of £43 million.

Avant Homes has bought the land in North Road, on the edge of Retford, Notts, having secured planning permission last month.

It will form part of Bassetlaw District Council’s planned 440-home Trinity Farm Urban Extension.

The development, named Trinity Fields, will have 18 styles of property, ranging from two-bedroom mid-terrace houses to four-bedroom detached properties.

Groundworks are due to start in April with the first homes set to go on sale in May and the showhomes ready for in October.

The first residents are expected to move in at the start of 2022 and the approximate build length of the development will be four years.

Of the 187 homes, 25 per cent will be designated to affordable housing. In addition to providing high-quality new-build homes, Avant Homes will commit a community contribution of £826,000 to local education, public transport, an open green space, and a library.

Avant Homes Central managing director Stuart Rowlands said: “We’re always searching for excellent land opportunities in the region and the new Trinity Fields development will become a landmark development in our portfolio.

“Trinity Fields will form part of the Trinity Farm Urban Extension Local Plan with Bassetlaw District Council, so we’re pleased to have secured planning approval and now acquired this parcel of land, and we look forward to moving our plans forward by starting initial groundworks in Retford in April 2021.”

Trinity Fields is situated just two miles from Retford town centre and close to the Idle Valley Nature Reserve.

The development is also located within easy ready of towns and cities including Worksop and Lincoln.

Based in Chesterfield, Avant Homes Central is part of the Avant Homes group, a private developer of residential property which has 56 developments across its five operating regions.

Avant Homes Central has nine developments under construction stretching from Worksop to Wollaton.
