Ava White's family release funeral details for 'loving' daughter and sister

The family of Ava White have released details of her funeral.

Ava, 12, was attacked in Liverpool city centre after she attended the Christmas light switch-on with friends on November 25.

She was taken to Alder Hey Children's Hospital where she died a short time later.

Now the 12-year-old's family have issued the details for Ava's funeral in the ECHO's family notices.

Encrochat suspect named as man, 35, held in custody

Detectives have charged a man in their Operation Venetic investigation into the use of encrypted phones - known as Encrochat.

James Birch has been held on suspicion of drugs offences, including conspiracy to supply heroin and cocaine.

The 35-year-old appeared in Wirral Magistrates Court on Thursday, December 16 and was kept in custody.

A spokesperson for Merseyside police said: "We have charged a 35-year-old man as part of the Merseyside Police response to Operation Venetic: a national investigation into the use of encrypted mobile devices, commonly referred to as Encrochat."

Neighbour in bungalow would end up 'boxed in' with 'ridiculous' plan for flat

A plan for new flats in Wirral has been thrown out over fears it would dominate a neighbouring home.

Wirral Council’s Planning Committee rejected Blueoak Estates’ plan for six flats last night, amid concerns it would be overbearing.

Some councillors said the plan should be blocked as it would mean a property would be dominated by two blocks of flats.

Conservative councillor Jenny Johnson, who represents West Kirby and Thurstaston, said the flats would be overbearing and would cause a loss of daylight and sunlight for those living there.
