Autumn fun for little ones at Lanarkshire's museum of rural life

Little explorers are being encouraged to head along to East Kilbride’s National Museum of Rural Life next week, where there is a range of fun autumnal activities for all the family.

Their Autumn Explorers Trail runs from Tuesday, October 12 until Friday, October 15.

Visitors can take part in activities such as storytelling, outdoor discovery trails and wildlife ranger walks around the farm.

They will have the chance to join storyteller Allison Galbraith, and listen to her tales about Scotland’s wildlife on the Tuesday and Wednesday, and follow Dan the Story Man on the Thursday and Friday, as he walks the museum’s Willow Sculpture Trail, spotting animals handmade from willow branches along the way.

Visitors can also explore the farm with a countryside ranger from Tuesday to Friday to discover some of the wildlife that live in the area. From identifying roe deer tracks, to finding bats in time for Halloween, the walks will inspire junior wildlife watchers to get their wellies on and get outside.

The activities are free with museum admission, but tickets should be booked in advance via www.nms.ac.uk/exhibitions-events/events/national-museum-of-rural-life/autumn-explorers/
