
It was a challenging start to the season for Nick Cassidy, with only one points-scoring finish in the first six races. A breakthrough came in the shape of third at Monaco, but it would take until race 11 of 16, the second contest in China, for Cassidy’s remarkable recovery to begin.
The Jaguar driver converted pole into victory around a very wet Shanghai International Circuit, before dominating the final three races to win in Berlin and at both London events. His remarkable performances launched him to an unlikely second in the drivers’ standings, with highly regarded team-mate Mitch Evans down in 13th.
