Autorickshaw driver bludgeoned to death in Pune

PUNE: The Hadapsar police on Monday arrested an autorickshaw driver Krishna Rekale (27) on the charge of assaulting his friend with a stick and bludgeoning him to death with a stone over a dispute of consuming liquor at Naralbaugh in Malwadi around 8.30pm on Sunday.

Police identified the deceased as autorickshaw driver Sagar Gaikwad (24) from Hadapsar.

The victim's sister Akshada Waghmare (22) has lodged a complaint relating to murder.

Inspector (crime) Digamber Shinde on Monday said, “A dispute broke between Rekale and Gaikwad on Sunday morning. Later, Rekale invited Gaikwad to consume liquor. Rekale hit the victim with a stick and bludgeoned him to death with a stone.”
