Automotive output in January stood at 179,595 units, up year-on-year by 8.06%, on increased production for domestic and overseas markets, the Federation of Thai Industries said on Thursday.
The FTI's automotive industry club said pickup truck output for export last month stood at 66,292 units, up by 9.61%, while production for the local market rose by 15.44% to 78,553 units in January.
Car sales last month also grew significantly, by 17.3% to 78,061 units.
However, vehicle exports in January dropped 0.59% to 81,583 units and the shipment value fell by 2.85% to 40.82 billion baht.
