Authorities In Gaza Uncover 392 Bodies In Mass Graves

Palestinians killed in Israeli strikes and fire are buried in a mass grave in Rafah

Authorities in Gaza have concluded their search of mass graves at a hospital in the south of the strip and have uncovered a total of 392 bodies, including some still wearing surgical gowns. The Palestinian Civil Defense in Gaza identified 165 bodies at the Nasser Medical Complex in Khan Younis, with 227 bodies still being examined for identification.

Three mass graves were found at the complex, raising concerns of possible crimes of genocide. The Civil Defense also reported the presence of children's bodies in the mass graves, with suspicions that at least 20 civilians were buried alive. Additionally, cases of executions of patients receiving treatment at the hospital were alleged, with bodies showing signs of torture and gunshot wounds.

Graphic images displayed at a news conference depicted decomposed bodies, including those of children, further highlighting the severity of the situation. Families who had buried their loved ones at the hospital as a temporary measure returned to find the bodies had been dug up and placed in collective graves.

The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) denied allegations of burying Palestinian bodies in mass graves, stating that a grave at the Nasser complex was dug by Palestinians months ago. The IDF emphasized that any attempt to blame Israel for such actions is false and part of a disinformation campaign.

The Palestinian Civil Defense has called on the United Nations to form an international committee to investigate the mass graves at the Nasser complex. The IDF has removed dozens of bodies from Gaza for DNA tests in Israel before returning the remains in containers.
