'Authentic' Indian eatery to open in Beeston property which has been vacant for 5 years

Indian food will be on the menu when Rogan & Josh opens its doors in Beeston

Describing itself as "authentic", the business will be setting up in a property that has remained vacant for around five years.

Since the closure of Handy Bloke, offering maintenance such as plumbing and electrical work, the premises, in Wollaton Road, has remained empty.

A sign in the window of Rogan & Josh says "coming soon" but otherwise there's no hint of an opening date or the actual menu.

Work is currently underway to revamp the interior

Taking its name from one of the signature curries of Kashmiri cuisine rojan josh, it's one of several new businesses springing up during the pandemic, in and around Beeston.

Chao Chao, an Asian street food kitchen, has just opened in Derby Road, Beeston, a new Turkish restaurant is on the horizon and the Pudding Pantry will be bringing its brunch and desserts to High Road.

Work is also continuing to create a new micro pub in Attenborough, called the Bird Hide. The unit in Attenborough Lane used to be a hair salon.
