PHUKET: An Austrian man fell to his death from a condominium building on Patong on Wednesday.

The body of the 68-year-old man, whose name was withheld, was found on the ground of the condomininum building, police said on Thursday.

Police said his body hit the edge of a waste water treatment facility.

The tourist stayed alone at a room on the 12th floor of Patong Night Plaza condominium. He entered Thailand on Dec 19 and was allowed to stay until March 17 this year.

Police were investigating and gathering further evidence. Medications for high blood pressure and diabetes were found in the room.

The investigators have already notified the Austrian embassy about the death. The body was sent to Patong Hospital for a post-mortem examination.
