An Australian woman recently finished her epic 4500 km journey across Australia, seeking a break from the stresses of everyday life.

According to ABC channel, the 27-year-old Stef Gebbie has spent seven-and-a-half months in crossing southern Australia, from the Snowy River in south-east Victoria to Margaret River.

Gebbie's journey was simple and free of advertising. No money was raised nor any record broken. She just wanted a break from the stresses of everyday life. "Everyone wants to be at peace and everyone wants that quiet, and this is what I've managed to find," Gebbie told ABC.

The horsewoman said her biggest concern while crossing the Central Australian desert was the never-ending search for water for her horses, Richard and Tickles.

During her journey, she launched a little blog on Facebook that helped people scoop her off the side of the road and invite her in for dinner and a shower. One social media follower went as far as to help the trio cross the arid Nullarbor with a vehicle carrying hay and water.

Gebbie has now set her sights on a horseback expedition across North America.
