
The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade is assisting the family of an Australian woman who died in Thailand.
The woman and her husband were reportedly swimming at a Phuket beach when they got into trouble in the water.
Authorities were able to save the man.
Local media reported the 65-year-old woman and her husband, 75, got into trouble in rough waters off Kamala Beach.
Lifeguards performed CPR on the beach, which was signed "no swimming here" and the woman died on the way to Patong Hospital, according to the Phuket Gazette.
