Australian rockers DMA's join 2021 Edinburgh Summer Sessions lineup

Australian rockers DMA's are the latest act to join 2021's Edinburgh Summer Sessions lineup.

The group will perform on Friday 6 August, and join a line-up of iconic stars including Tom Jones, Michael Kiwanuka, Lionel Richie, Travis and Simple Minds.

Tickets for DMA’s will go on sale this Friday 27 November at 9am via WWW.SMMRSESSIONS.COM.

The Australian indie three-piece have previously sold out Glasgow’s Barrowland Ballroom in 2018 and have toured with the likes of Liam Gallagher and Richard Ashcroft.

The band released their third album earlier this year.

The third edition of the festival pops up against the backdrop of Edinburgh Castle during the world-renowned Edinburgh International Festival.

Earlier this year it was announced that the 2020 Summer Sessions in Edinburgh would be postponed for 12 months.

Acts like Sir Tom Jones, The 1975, McFly and Simple Minds had been booked to play at the huge Princes Street Gardens event, with more than 50,000 tickets sold.

The Edinburgh International Festival, the book festival and the Tattoo, had already been cancelled.

The Edinburgh Summer Sessions proved controversial because the gigs involved the early closure of the gardens, as well as barriers on Princes Street.

The full line-up is:

DMA’s - 6th August 2021

Tom Jones - 8th August 2021

Michael Kiwanuka - 9th August 2021

Tom Jones - 10th August 2021

Lionel Richie - 11th August 2021

Travis - 13th August 2021

Simple Minds - 15th August 2021
