- Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has apologised "unequivocally" for comments made about pop star Kylie Minogue on a podcast.
- During an appearance on the Bush Deep podcast, Mr Albanese was asked to play a "shag, marry, date" game involving Kylie Minogue, Nicole Kidman, and Rhonda Burchmore.
- Despite initial reluctance, he responded "all of the above" when asked if he would marry, shag, and date Minogue, adding "she's terrific".
- The remarks sparked widespread criticism, with Community Strong MP Zali Steggall calling them "entirely inappropriate" and Shadow Communications Minister Sarah Henderson deeming them "disrespectful to women."
- While Mr Albanese issued an apology, Labor ministers Tanya Plibersek and acting prime minister Richard Marles defended his record on gender equality and his government's commitment to women.
