The Australian PGA Championship will be held in front of crowds at Brisbane's Royal Queensland Golf Club in December, signalling a return for top-level men's golf after a season ruined by COVID-19.
The tournament's return to the riverside course for the first time since 2001 comes after a stint at Royal Pines on the Gold Coast and a year later than first planned.
The pandemic effectively halted the sport last year but it is hoped a quality field assembles in front of crowds from December 2-5 for one of the European Tours early-season stops.
Two-time winners Adam Scott and Cameron Smith have been regulars at the event while Marc Leishman - tied fifth at the Masters - and Spanish Masters champion Sergio Garcia are others who have contended in recent years.
"After the disappointment in cancelling last year's event, we are elated to be able to stage the 2021 Australian PGA Championship," PGA of Australia chief executive Gavin Kirkman said.
"The Australian PGA Championship is seen by millions of fans the world over, so we are excited to play a leading role in the rejuvenation of the international tourism sector for Queensland and put a spotlight on the beautiful city of Brisbane by bringing a quality field of golf's best players to Royal Queensland Golf Club.
