Welcome to the Evening Standard’s LIVE coverage of the 2019 Australian Open as the semi-finals get underway.
Naomi Osaka, the 2018 US Open winner, will face Petra Kvitova in the Women's Singles final on Sunday. Kvitova defeated Danielle Collins in straight sets on Rod Laver to secure her third grand slam final appearance, her first at the Australian Open, and her first since the shocking attack she suffered inside her home back in December 2016.
Osaka, meanwhile, defeated Karolina Pliskova - who eliminated Serena Williams in the quarter-finals - in three sets.
Next up in the Rod Laver Arena is the first men's semi-final takes place as 20-year-old Greek sensation Stefanos Tsitsipas faces off against Rafael Nadal.
