Australian Open: Bopanna-Sania pair in semis

MELBOURNE: Sania Mirza and Rohan Bopanna moved into the Australian Open mixed-doubles semifinals without striking a ball when their opponents Latvia's Jelena Ostapenko and David Vega Hernandez of Spain withdrew from the last-eight clash on Tuesday.

Ostapenko, who lost the women's quarterfinal against Elena Rybakina, complained about mental fatigue resulting from the scheduling in her post-match conference.

In the junior event, 17-yearold Yuvan Nandal went down to the fourth seed from France Arthur Gea 6-3, 1-6, 2-6 in the second round.
