Australian Open 2022: When is Andy Murray’s match against Taro Daniel? Date, TV and live stream

Andy Murray is into the second round of the Australian Open for the first time since 2017.

On the court where his tennis career looked to be over three years ago, as a farewell retirement video from a number of players was shown to him after a first-round defeat, Murray overcame Nikoloz Basilashvili in five sets to progress.

The 34-year-old had to show all of his trademark resilience in the win, and was delighted to have made it through to second-round.

“It’s amazing, it’s been a tough three or four years but I’ve put in a lot of hard work to get here,” Murray said.

“I’ve played on this court many times and the atmosphere is always incredible.

“It is where I thought I had potentially played my last match but to win a five-set battle like that, I couldn’t have asked any more.”

He’ll face Japanese qualifier Taro Daniel, who is yet to make it past the second round of a Grand Slam in his career, in his next match.

When is Andy Murray vs Taro Daniel?

Murray and Daniel will take to the court on Thursday, January 20.

It’s the last match of the day session, and will start no earlier than 06:30am GMT. Should the three matches on court before go the distance, Murray and Daniel could potentially take to the court slightly later than that.
