Australian national Johnson Wen has been jailed for nine days after grabbing Ariana Grande at the Singapore premiere of Wicked: For Good — a move that’s become the talk of both red carpet security and fan behaviour worldwide.
Wen, 26, was convicted of being a public nuisance, with the judge hearing about his history of rushing stages and causing drama at public events.
Grande, who’s currently on a whirlwind publicity tour for her role in the upcoming Wicked sequel, managed to keep her cool despite the interruption, thanks in part to her quick-thinking co-star Cynthia Erivo.

What actually happened?
During the November 13 event at Universal Studios Singapore, the usual glitz and fanfare were knocked off script when Wen leapt over a barricade and rushed up to Grande on the red carpet.
Cynthia Erivo went full Mother mode and stepped in with security following suit and escorting Wen away.
But the courts heard that Wen wasn’t done after his first stunt — after being removed, he apparently tried his luck a second time, jumping another barricade before being tackled and pinned down by security staff.

Wen has a reputation for this kind of disruption, regularly posting stunts on Instagram as @pyjamamann. His profile features footage from previous stage invasions, including run-ins with Katy Perry and The Weeknd.

According to 9News, Wen has racked up $20,000 worth of fines for his stunts.
The Singapore incident sparked significant backlash online, with many commenters calling his behaviour dangerous and criminal.
As for Grande and the cast, their global press tour rolls on. The Wicked sequel hits cinemas on 21 November, with critics widely tipping more Oscar nominations for our fave witches.
