A lifelong Leeds United supporter will tick off a key fixture of his bucket list when Leeds welcome Preston North End to Elland Road on Boxing Day.
Paul Jabs, who has followed the Whites for 50 years, is eager to pay Elland Road a visit, after sadly losing his wife early last year.
With her legacy and memory firmly on his mind, he is determined to tick things off his bucket list, with a first ever visit to Elland Road high on the agenda.
Explaining his plans for his visit on the 'Leeds United Supporters Group' Facebook group, which boasts more than 34,000 members, Mr Jabs wrote a lengthy piece, outlining his plans.
He wrote: "Well.....it's not long to go now.....My bucket list starts in just 6 weeks, after sadly losing my wife early last year. With her memory and legacy firmly on my mind.....she would simply want me to start my list in just one place.....Elland Rd.
"So, the flights are booked from Oz.....I fly into Leeds on Boxing Day, which ironically would have been our 4th anniversary.....then off to watch my team of 50 years for the first time at our iconic ground.
"Hoping for a great result against Preston.....but to be honest, it won't really matter as much as just being there.....soaking up the best atmosphere anywhere.....singing my heart out for the boys.
"Looking forward to hopefully having a beer with a few of you before and after....and seeing for myself what it really means to be a true Whites supporter on a game day!!!"
Paul's post brought about hundreds of messages and responses offer their support and best wishes ahead of the trip.
