Australian former PM softens stance on immigration policy

Australia's former Prime Minister Kevin Rudd has softened his stance on a tough immigration policy which he introduced in 2013.

He told Al Jazeera that he never intended for refugees to be kept in offshore prison camps for as long as they have been.
