Australia vs Denmark prediction and odds ahead of crucial 2022 FIFA World Cup Group D decider

It is winner-takes-all at the Al Janoub Stadium in Qatar as Australia face Denmark in their final Group D match to decide who will progress to the round of 16 with France. The world champions have already secured their place in the next round of the FIFA World Cup but both these sides have the chance to secure the second round of 16 spot with a win - so long as Tunisia do not shock Les Bleus.

Despite Australia having the upper-hand going into this match, it is Denmark who priced as the convincing favourites at 1/2 with Betfred while the Socceroos are 6/1 outsider and a draw is 10/3. This will be their second meeting at the World Cup following a 1-1 draw in the group stage back in 2018.

With France already qualified, only one spot in Group D is left for a place in the round of 16 with both sides - as well as Tunisia - having a chance to progress. Australia need a win here but a draw will be enough for them to progress so long as Les Bleus do not lose to Tunisia. If that is the case then the African side progress on goal difference. For Denmark, this really is a must-win match if they have any chance of playing in the round of 16.
