Australia to tour West Indies for Tests after a decade

West Indies have unveiled their 2025 home schedule, featuring a highly anticipated Test series against Australia, marking the first time the Aussies will play Tests in the Caribbean since 2015. The series will be part of the new ICC World Test Championship cycle and is set to begin on June 25 in Barbados, just days after the 2025 World Test Championship Final at Lord’s.

The three-match Test series will be played across Barbados, Grenada, and Jamaica, followed by a five-match T20I series in preparation for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in India and Sri Lanka in 2026.

Following Australia’s visit, West Indies will host Pakistan for three ODIs and three T20Is, with matches scheduled in Florida and Trinidad. The men's team also has a busy international calendar, with overseas tours to India (two Tests), Bangladesh (three ODIs, three T20Is), and New Zealand (three Tests, three ODIs, five T20Is) later in the year.

Meanwhile, the West Indies women’s team, led by Hayley Matthews, will aim to qualify for the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup through the ICC Women's Cricket World Cup Qualifier. The qualification event details are yet to be finalised, but West Indies will compete for one of two available spots in the 50-over World Cup in India. Before that, the women’s team will face England in a six-match white-ball series in May and June, followed by a home series against South Africa in Barbados.

With Australia’s long-awaited return and a packed calendar across formats, 2025 promises to be an action-packed year for West Indies cricket, providing ample opportunities to strengthen their squads ahead of major ICC events.
