Vaccinated tourists and other visa holders will be able to visit the country from February 21 which will be welcome news to family and friends looking to visit loved ones.
Australia has had one of the strictest border controls in the world during the coronavirus pandemic.
Prime Minister Scott Morrison said: "If you're double vaccinated, we look forward to welcoming you back."
Australia closed its borders in March 2020 and banned most international foreigners from entering in a bid to keep the country safe from Covid.
International students and skilled migrants have been allowed to enter the country since last December.

Vaccinated Australian citizens have been able to travel through the country's international border since November 1.
In October, the government announced changes to allow parents of Australian citizens to be classified as immediate family, allowing them to travel to places with 80% double-dose vaccination rates.
It comes as travel restrictions in the UK are set to change from February 11.
From 4am on February 11, fully vaccinated passengers arriving in the UK will no longer have to take a post-arrival coronavirus test.
All they'll need to do is fill out a passenger locator form. Anyone under 18 arriving in the UK will be treated as an eligible fully vaccinated passenger.
