(Reuters) - Westpac Banking Corp <WBC.AX> on Friday appointed David Stephen as the bank's chief risk officer, following incumbent Alexandra Holcomb's announced retirement last year.

Stephen currently serves as group chief risk officer at the Royal Bank of Scotland and would join Westpac in "the coming months", the bank said in a statement.
