Looking to make some money tout suite? Well, the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) has officially released the data from its 2022-2023 financial breakdown, revealing Australia’s highest-paying jobs.
As someone who believes in that you can change your career path at any time in your life (‘cos YOLO), the ATO‘s financial breakdown is the perfect compass for a shit tonne of moolah.

The result comes as no surprise, as surgeons held the number one spot back in the 2010-11 breakdown.
“Since reporting started in 2010–11, surgeons have remained the highest paid occupation with the 4,247 individuals reporting an average taxable income of $472,475 in 2022–23,” the report reads.

If you’re not vibing with becoming a surgeon, you can also shoot for the job in second place, which is anaesthetist, with 3,658 individuals reporting an average taxable income of $447,193.
Following anesthetists are financial dealers, with $355,233, and in fourth position are internal medicine specialists, with an average of 10,689 individuals reporting an average taxable income of $342,457.
