
SYDNEY (Reuters) - Australia's central bank left its cash rate at 1.5 percent on Tuesday, confounding speculation it may ease policy following a disappointingly weak reading of inflation.
The Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA) made the announcement following its monthly policy meeting. A Reuters poll of 42 analysts had found 25 saw a steady outcome this week, with the rest tipping a cut to 1.25 percent.
