Australia's central bank said Deputy Governor Guy Debelle will appear before a parliamentary economics committee later on Wednesday at 1000 GMT (2100 Sydney time).
Further details were not immediately available, but the scheduled appearance was unusual and comes at a time when global policymakers are ramping up efforts to deal with the coronavirus epidemic.
On Tuesday, the Reserve Bank of Australia cut its benchmark interest rate to a record low of 0.5% to blunt the economic fallout from the virus.
