Austin Samuels close to Aberdeen transfer as Wolves striker arrives at Cormack Park

Aberdeen are closing in on the signing of Wolves striker Austin Samuels.

The Dons have agreed a season-long loan deal for the 20-year-old frontman as their summer recruitment drive continues.

Samuels' transfer is on track to be completed on Tuesday and Aberdeen have an option to buy.

The Englishman arrived at the club's training base Cormack Park on Monday night ahead of a move to the Scottish Premiership.

Aberdeen boss Stephen Glass has been on the hunt for the right player who can add pace to his forward line and complement current strike duo Christian Ramirez and Jay Emanuel Thomas.

Samuelson has previously had loans at Bradford and Kidderminster Harriers and is now set to take on his next test in Scotland's top-flight.

Aberdeen are preparing for a huge week on the pitch as their Europa Conference League play-off second leg against Qarabag looms.

Glass' team trail 1-0 from the first leg in Baku but it's very much all to play for under the Pittodrie lights on Thursday night.
