Austin Reaves Reveals How LeBron James Reacted to His Old Facebook Post Diss

One of Lakers guard Austin Reaves’s Facebook posts from 2012 about current teammate LeBron James came back to haunt him recently.

When Reaves was 13, he posted a picture of Kobe Bryant with the words, “When I need some peace and quiet I set my phone to LeBron mode, no ring.”

The post resurfaced now that the guard is teammates with James, so Reaves knew he had to clear the air quickly with the NBA legend.

“I called Bron over and was like, ‘Look, I was s----ing on you back in 2012. I was a Kobe fan,’” Reaves said, via Fox Sports. “[James] just laughed it off.”

It doesn’t sound as if James, who’s now a four-time NBA champion, has any hard feelings toward Reaves regarding the 11-year-old post, especially since the two teammates seem to have bonded this season. And, James looked up to Bryant over the years as well, so he probably understood why Reaves was such a big fan of the late NBA star.

Reaves has become a sensation this postseason, specifically after he dropped 23 points in Game 1 vs. the Grizzlies in the first round of the playoffs and shouted, “I’m him.” James went on to compliment Reaves after the game, saying “I know the type of players that fit with my game. I knew Austin would be that.”

The second-year player continues to shine, as he scored 21 points on Monday as the Lakers won Game 4 of their Western Conference semifinals against the Warriors to take a 3-1 series lead. Game 5 is slated for Wednesday at 10 p.m. ET in San Francisco.
