Austin Dillon's PBR team just won its first championship

The Carolina Cowboys, owned by Richard Childress with grandson Austin Dillon serving as general manager, won the Professional Bull Riding (PBR) Team's Championship over the weekend in Las Vegas at the T-Mobile Arena.

Dillon, a winner of both the Daytona 500 and Coca-Cola 600 in NASCAR, celebrated the big win with the following post on Instagram:

The Carolina Cowboys ended the regular season fifth of ten teams, but they started the weekend off strong with all of their riders scoring on Friday. On Saturday, they defeated the defending champions, the Austin Gamblers.

And on Sunday, they first toppled the Arizona Ridge Riders in the semi-finals before facing the Missouri Thunder in the finals, claiming the championship.

The team’s roster featured several strong riders including two-time champion Jess Lockwood and another former champion in Cooper Davis, but 20-year-old Clay Guiton was the MVP, riding 5/5 bulls throughout the weekend.

Jerome Davis, another legend of the PBR, led the team to its 2025 title as the head coach.

The team was formed by the Childress family in 2022, and Dillon shows up to events whenever he can between NASCAR’s grueling 36-race schedule. He won the 2011 NASCAR Truck Series title and the 2013 NASCAR Xfinity Series title, but the 35-year-old can now add PBR team champion to his resume in his role as GM.
