Austin City Limits music festival canceled for 2020

DALLAS _ Organizers behind Austin City Limits announced Wednesday morning that the annual, two-weekend music festival is canceled this year.

"We would have loved to put on another memorable show this year, however, with the uncertainty surrounding the current situation in Texas, this decision is the only responsible solution," organizers said in a press release. "The health and safety of our fans, artists, partners, staff and the entire Austin community remains our highest priority."

The festival was set to take place on Oct. 2-4 and Oct. 9-11. Folks who had purchased tickets have the option to hold on to them for next year's festival or receive a refund.

According to the release, ACL will return next year to Austin's Zilker Park on Oct. 1-3 and Oct. 8-10, celebrating its 20th anniversary.

Started in 2002, the music festival has hosted over 130 artists each year. Last year's performers included Cardi B, Billie Eilish, The Cure, Mumford & Sons, Lizzo and Kacey Musgraves.
