Aust Post pauses some Melbourne parcels

Australia Post will pause all parcels from businesses across Melbourne for five days. (AAP)

Parcel pick-ups from businesses will be paused by Australia Post in Melbourne for five days.

Australia Post announced on Wednesday it is pausing eParcel and Parcel Post pickups, collections and lodgements from eCommerce retailers from Friday October 1 to Wednesday October 6.

The move is designed to clear a record volume of parcels through centres hit by major COVID-19 disruptions, Australia Post said in a statement.

Collections from eCommerce retailers in regional Victoria and all other states will continue as normal and collections from Street Post Boxes across Victoria will be unaffected.

All deliveries will continue and Post Offices will remain open for all usual business.

All letters, Express Post, StarTrack Premium, StarTrack Courier, Startrack Express, domestic and international letters remain unchanged across our network, as does processing for all international inbound and outbound.
