Australian TV presenter Karl Stefanovic mocked Meghan Markle and Prince Harry 's newborn daughter's name by claiming it sounded like a "betting app".
The royal couple welcomed their second child Lilibet "Lili" Diana Mountbatten-Windsor on Friday at a Santa Barbara Hospital but only announced her arrival on Sunday.
In light of the news, Today show host Karl, who has been critical of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex amid their rift with the Royal family, took a swipe at the new parents during an interview with Piers Morga n on Monday.
The Aussie broadcaster, 46, asked outspoken Morgan: "What did you make of the name Lilibet? Does it sound like a sports betting app?"

In response to the question, Piers said it was "ironic" they'd given their daughter the same name as the Queen, but insisted it might be their way of mending the family rift.
He said: "It's quite ironic isn't it. You have this couple who have been trashing the Royal Family and the monarchy for the last few weeks and they have named the baby after the Queen.
"Maybe it's their way of reaching out, as the Americans say, to the royals and wanting some kind of end to this on-running feud."
Despite Karl's ridicule, it should be noted that Lilibet would not seem out of place alongside betting apps Down Under, which include Unibet, Sportsbet and Pointsbet.
However, the name is a loving tribute to the new-born's great-grandmother as it was her childhood nickname, and the one used by her late husband Prince Philip during their marriage.
Meanwhile, royal commentators have claimed that the choice of name could in fact be an 'olive branch' as the Sussex's remain locked in a feud with the Royal Family.

Royal commentator Dickie Arbiter, a senior aide to the Queen from 1988 until 2000, said calling their daughter Lilibet "Lili" Diana Mountbatten-Windsor could be a peace offering.
He said: "He moved to California to distance himself, but choosing this name is a complete about-face. So I wonder if taking the Queen’s nickname for his baby is an olive branch? Only Harry can answer that.
"The Queen gave herself the nickname Lilibet because she couldn’t say Elizabeth as a child, and it stuck. I think it’s rather cute."
Prince Harry dropped hints that he already knew what he would call his future daughter years before she was born, an insider has claimed.

Reportedly, the Duke of Sussex had dropped a hint two years ago that he already had the child's name in mind, while his wife Meghan was pregnant with their son Archie.
A royal source told The Sun : "Lilibet was a favourite nickname used by Prince Philip. It’s also been one of Harry’s favourites for years.
"During a royal engagement in Liverpool in 2019, when Meghan was pregnant with Archie, Harry asked someone in the crowd how she spelt her daughter’s name Lily.
“She said Harry took great interest in it and suggested he was keen on giving it to his own daughter one day.”
Lily of the Valley flowers were also among blooms worn by Meghan’s bridesmaids when she married Harry in 2018.
