Singapore’s Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA) has confirmed Australian Johnson Wen has been deported after he was jailed for grabbing Ariana Grande at the country’s premiere of Wicked: For Good, according to multiple local news outlets.
After copping a nine-day jail sentence last week, Singaporean authorities have confirmed the 26-year-old Aussie was deported and banned from the country following the incident.
“Johnson Wen was deported to Australia on Nov 23, 2025 and has been barred from re-entering Singapore,” the ICA said on Sunday (local time), per Channel News Asia.

Wen was handed a nine-day jail sentence on November 17, after he was found guilty of being a public nuisance by a local court.
According to Channel News Asia, District Judge Christopher Goh stated Wen was “attention seeking” and he was mistaken in thinking he wouldn’t be punished for his actions in Singapore.
Wen, who’d been in custody since November 14, pleaded guilty to a public nuisance charge for causing a commotion at the premiere.
What did Johnson Wen do?
Fans and cast members of Wicked: For Good took to Universal Studios Singapore on November 13 to celebrate the release of the musical’s second part.
However, cheers turned to shock after Wen leapt over a barricade and rushed to Grande on the red carpet.
Co-star (and absolute icon) Cynthia Eriva stepped in to protect Grande as security came and escorted Wen away.
But after jumping over the barricade the first time, the courts heard Wen attempted to rush the carpet a second time. In his second attempt he was tackled and pinned down by security.
This isn’t the first stunt Wen has pulled. Posting under Pyjama Man on social media — where he dubs himself as “Troll Most Hated” in his IG bio — Wen has previously crashed the stages of Katy Perry, The Weeknd and The Chainsmokers.
Per 9News, Wen has at least $20,000 worth of fines for his stunts.
It’s not known what will happen to Wen when he returns to Australia. However, according to 9News, Wen has already been banned from Olympic Park for his previous stage crashes.
