Australia Post is currently seeking to hire more than 3500 people before Christmas, despite partially suspending services to the United States due to Donald Trump‘s administration’s tariffs.
The postal service is looking for employees with applicable skills across the business, but especially interested in hearing from forklift operators, van and truck drivers and those interested in parcel sorting and deliveries.

The search for additional seasonal employees comes due to the high demand on Aus Post during the Christmas season.
According to Aus Post executive general manager of people and culture, Sue Davies, hiring extra people for the busy period is essential for workflow.
“Last year, we delivered almost 103 million parcels in the lead up to Christmas, thanks to the help of our seasonal team members,” she said.
“Our ability to deliver parcels to customers quickly and reliably depends on the hard work and commitment of every individual we bring on board.”

Davies says that while these roles can be a good way to get some extra cash, for many Aus Post employees, seasonal roles have been the foot in the door for a long-lasting career.
“Seasonal roles can also open the door to longer-term opportunities beyond the end of the year. Many of our team members began their journey with us during the Christmas period and have gone on to build lasting careers at Australia Post,” she said.
