An Aurora man died a month after he was ejected in a single-vehicle rollover crash in the western suburbs.
Daniel Taylor, 32, was ejected from his vehicle about 2 a.m. on May 26 in the westbound lanes of I-88, milepost 134, in Downers Grove, according to Illinois State Police.
A state trooper was checking on a motorist in the right shoulder and heard a loud crash, state police said. The trooper saw a Chevrolet Express Van rolling over and then come to rest in the center lanes.
The trooper came over and found Taylor ejected from his vehicle, lying on the ground, state police said. Taylor was conscious and alert, and was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove.
He was pronounced dead over a month later on June 28 at Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, the Cook County medical examiner’s office said. An autopsy released Monday found he died of complications from a motor vehicle crash.
At the time of the crash, Taylor was issued citations for driving with a revoked license, failure to wear a seatbelt and several other moving violations, state police said. Additional details were not released.
