Aurora girl claims she was inappropriately touched after accepting ride to school

April 13--Aurora police are investigating a 10-year-old girl's claim that she was inappropriately touched by a man after accepting a ride from him Wednesday morning to her Far East Side elementary school.

The girl told police she was late for school so she entered the man's car, described only as a black, four-door sedan, when he offered her a ride at around 8:30 a.m. as she was walking at the intersection of Symphony Drive and Linden Avenue. Once she did, she said the man inappropriately touched her before dropping her off in front of Allen School in the 700 block of South Farnsworth Avenue, where she is a student.

The girl told another student what occurred and that student then told a school administrator.

She described the man as Middle Eastern or Hispanic, between 30 and 40 years old, with black hair and a thin mustache.

Anyone with information is asked to call Aurora police investigators at 630-256-5500 or Aurora Area Crime Stoppers at 630-892-1000. Callers to Crime Stoppers can anonymous and qualify for a cash reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to any arrests. Tips can also be submitted through the Aurora Police Department's free app available through iTunes, the Android Market, or Amazon App Store. Search for "My Police Department," find the Aurora Police and download.
