'Heartbroken' family of tragic teen found dead outside Glasgow flats pay tribute to 'kindest soul'

The family of a tragic teen have been left "heartbroken" after he was found dead outside a block of flats in Glasgow.

Nathan Thomas was tragically pronounced dead at the scene after emergency services raced to Viewpoint Place in Springburn at around 3am on Monday.

The 19-year-old's family have spoken of their shock saying he was the one of the "kindest" and "purest souls".

We told how police investigations into his death are ongoing.

A GoFundMe page has now been set up by Nathan's aunt Helena Thomas and has already raised over £500 in a matter of hours to help his grieving family pay for funeral costs.

Helena said Nathan’s death was a “tragic accident” and told how Nathan has been due to begin college today.

She wrote: “All the family are heartbroken from our loss.

“19-years-old and was looking forward to starting his life in college today.”

We told how tributes had poured in for Nathan, a former Cleveden Secondary School pupil, following the news of his tragic death.

One friend wrote: "Honestly so in shock. I can’t put it into words. Rest in peace Nathan Thomas.

"We shared so many good memories and you were one of the kindest, purest souls I have ever known.

"I hope you’re resting peacefully."

Another added: “Brad added: "Rest in peace Nathan Thomas.

"Can't process this news or my words. Love you always."

A former school friend wrote: “Can't believe this. How me and Nathan were close in school and now found out this happened.

"This is upsetting. Sending my love and prayers."

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “At around 2.50am on Monday, 14 September, officers were called to a property in Viewpoint Place, Glasgow.

"A 19-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene and enquiries into the death are ongoing."
