August Bank Holiday Monday opening times for DIY stores like B&Q and Argos

To make use of Bank Holiday Monday and its glorious weather, many Brits may be planning a spot of DIY today in an attempt to get the home ready for the incoming winter.

But, before you start dreaming of what your new outside decking will look like or what a great opportunity an extra day gives you to finally sort out the house for good, you may want to check that your local DIY store is open first.

The likes of Homebase, B&Q or Wickes chain will be open from different hours compared to usual seeing as it's Bank Holiday Monday.

B&Q

Hardware chain B&Q will be open throughout Monday - and it seems like there's recently been some big price drops on the likes of outdoor furniture and garden tools.

Monday 26 August: Most B&Q stores will be open between 7am and 9pm.

If you want to double check, simply pop your postcode into the B&Q store finder .

Homebase

If you're doing the house up, building a shed, or want to add a second coat to your newly coloured walls, Homebase is probably the place to be - so you'll be pleased to know it's well and truly open over Bank Holiday Monday.

Screwfix

Screwfix (Screwfix)

The home of hardware will be open on Bank Holiday Monday.

Monday 26 August: 7am-8pm for most stores, like normal.

However, these Screwfix bank holiday times do exclude London stores (7am – 8pm), and you can check when your local Screwfix is open using their super handy store finder tool.

Halfords

If you're looking for technology, motoring, camping products and more than Halfords is your best bet. The megastore has all the hardware you could need.

They are currently running a big summer sale, but shoppers will need to be quick if they want to bag a bargain.

Monday 26 August: 9am - 6pm for most stores, like normal.
