For this episode of Aaj Ka AQI, Newslaundry visited the All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA) office in New Delhi. Every day, several patients visit AIIA to seek treatment for various ailments.
The AQI recorded at the nearest DPCC air monitoring station (Okhla Phase-2) was 68, which falls in the satisfactory category. While frequent rains in Delhi have led to better air quality in the city, the situation will worsen from October.
To tackle this, the Delhi government has decided to only allow BS6, CNG, and EV commercial vehicles to ply in the city from November 1. However, the efficacy of this decision, coupled with other like the plantation drives the government has undertaken, will only be visible once winter approaches.
