Audi set on fire in Scots street after being stolen from home in Rutherglen

A luxury car was torched after being nicked from a home in Ruthglen.

Cops were called after a white Audi S3 was set ablaze on Mill Road, Cambuslang, between 6.30pm and 7pm on Monday, February 15.

The vehicle had been stolen from a property in Limeside Avenune, Rutherglen earlier that day.

Thieves drove the car around three miles away to a residential street before setting it alight.

Police are now probing CCTV and urging witnesses to come forward.

Detective Constable John Law of Cambuslang Police Office said: “Our enquiries are continuing into this theft and fire and we are viewing CCTV footage to gather more information.

“I would urge any witnesses to the fire, or anyone who seen this vehicle in the local area on Monday, 15 February to contact us as they may have information that will assist our investigation.”
