Audi drivers are the worst in the UK according to a new study

New research of thousands of motorists has found bad drivers are more likely to be behind the wheel of an Audi.

Among the worst drivers were also Land Rover owners, who had a habit of being impolite on the roads.

Meanwhile, drivers of Volvos were the best behaved.

The research, by Van Monster, concluded that Audi drivers were in the greatest need of remedial driving lessons, coming out worst for 17 out of 33 motoring misdemeanours, ExaminerLive reports.

The 17 included cutting fellow motorists up, colliding with other vehicles, parking across two spaces and parking on double yellow lines.

As well as being inept, Audi drivers were found to be the least honest when it came to owning up to damaging other people's vehicles, choosing instead to drive off.

Land Rover topped a number of the lists, being the worst when it came to opening their doors onto fellow motorists’ vehicles, damaging other vehicles and damaging friends and family members’ vehicles whist driving them.

The drivers of Seat cars were found to be the worst when it came to road rage.

At the other end of the scale, Volvo drivers were found to be the safest and most responsible, followed by Hyundai and Honda drivers.

Despite their traditionally poor reputation, BMW drivers weren't the worst for any offence.
