Audi deliberately set on fire in Bishopbriggs car park sparks police probe

An Audi found ablaze in a Bishopbriggs car park is being treated as willful, police confirm.

Officers were alerted after an Audi A3 was set on fire in a car park at Hillcroft Terrace at around 11.30pm on Wednesday night.

The blaze was quickly extinguished by fire crews. There were no injuries or casualties and officers have confirmed the fire is being treated as wilful.

Detective inspector Ross Jamieson said: “Our investigation is continuing to trace whoever is responsible for this crime.

“Officers have been carrying out enquiries in the local area and are viewing CCTV footage to gather more information.

“I would like to speak to anyone who was in the area of Hillcroft Terrace after 11pm on Wednesday evening who witnessed anything suspicious or who has any information that may help.

“Any details should be passed by phoning 101 with reference 3844 of 9 February. Alternatively Crimestoppers can be contacted on 0800 555 111, where anonymity can be maintained.”
